Time to Center Yourself Within

How often do we use part of the 24/7 given to us for meditation and self-reflection?

Labyrinths ~ ancient tools ~ allow us this opportunity.  They offer a chance to take "time out" from our busy lives, to leave schedules and stress behind.

The labyrinth represents our passage through time and experience.  Its many turns reflect the journey of life.  No time or effort is ever wasted; if we stay the course, every step takes us closer to our goal.

Unlike mazes, labyrinths contain no tricks or dead-ends.  We only need to follow the path.  When the path no longer leads forward, we have reached the center.  The center is not the end, but the middle of our labyrinth journey.  The path which brought us to the center, also brings us out.

"The labyrinth is a path to connect you to the still, small voice, the sacred within yourself."
~Helen Curry (2000).  The Way of the Labyrinth.  Penguin Compass, p. 42.

Without the need to think of which way to turn, the analytical becomes secondary.  Mind and spirit are free to focus on other things, creating an ideal condition for walking meditation or prayer.  Mind, Body and Spirit connect as one.

Walking a labyrinth is a gift we give ourselves.  The turns of the labyrinth are thought to balance the two hemispheres of the brain, resulting in physical and emotional healing.  Our labyrinth journey can lead to discovery, insight, peacefulness, happiness, connectedness, and well-being.

The largest in the area, the Langetree DUCK FARM Retreat and Eco Center labyrinth is roughly one mile from beginning to end, allowing you time to center yourself within.  Constructed of "sticks and bricks," our outdoor labyrinth provides a place where mind, body, spirit, and nature combine.

Our labyrinth is registered with the international Labyrinth Society, the Texas Labyrinth Society, and the Houston Labyrinth Society.  It is available for your enjoyment at any time.  We also provide labyrinth workshops for groups.

We invite you to experience our labyrinth for yourself.
